Smash Room – Terms & Conditions

By booking or participating in a Smash Room experience, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These are designed to ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for all guests.


1. Bookings & Payments

  • Bookings may be paid in full upfront or with a 50% deposit.

  • The remaining balance must be paid before the session begins, either online or in-store.

  • Prices are listed in NZD and include GST, unless stated otherwise.

  • Smash Room reserves the right to refuse service where safety requirements are not met.


2. Cancellation, Refund & Rescheduling Policy

We understand plans can change. This policy allows us to staff, prepare, and operate safely.

Cancellation & Refund Timeframes

5 or more days before your booking:

  • 100% refund, less any non-refundable payment processing fees.

Between 48 hours and 5 days before your booking:

  • 50% refund, less any non-refundable payment processing fees.

Between 24 and 48 hours before your booking:

  • No refund.

Less than 24 hours before your booking:

  • No refund.

Payment Processing Fees

  • Payment processing fees charged by third-party providers (e.g. Stripe) are non-refundable and will be deducted from any approved refund.

Rescheduling

  • We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate rescheduling requests, subject to availability.

  • Requests must be made as early as possible.

No-Shows

  • Failure to attend without prior notice is treated as a late cancellation and is not eligible for a refund or reschedule.


3. Afterpay Payments

  • Afterpay is available as a payment option subject to approval by Afterpay.

  • Refunds for Afterpay purchases follow the same Smash Room refund policy outlined above.

  • Any Afterpay fees, repayments, or adjustments are managed directly by Afterpay under their own terms and conditions.

  • Smash Room is not responsible for Afterpay account fees, missed payment charges, or repayment schedules.

  • Refunds may take additional time to appear depending on Afterpay’s processing timeframes.


4. Gift Cards

  • Gift cards are issued as a one-time-use voucher or code.

  • Gift cards may be redeemed online or in person.

  • Gift cards must be redeemed in a single booking. Any unused value is forfeited.

  • Gift cards are non-refundable and not redeemable for cash.

  • Lost, stolen, damaged, or deleted gift cards or codes cannot be replaced.

  • Gift cards may be transferred but remain one-time use only.

  • Gift cards do not expire unless otherwise stated.


5. Safety Requirements

  • Closed-toe footwear must be worn at all times.

  • Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as instructed.

  • Smash Room staff may stop or end a session if unsafe behaviour occurs.

  • Any damage caused outside designated smash areas may be the responsibility of the participant.


6. Participant Waiver – Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk

All participants must complete a Smash Room waiver prior to entry.

Assumption of Risk

Participants acknowledge that Smash Room activities involve inherent risks, including physical injury and property damage, and voluntarily assume all associated risks.

Release & Indemnification

Participants release Smash Room, its owners, staff, contractors, and agents from all liability arising from participation and agree to indemnify Smash Room against related claims.

Medical Consent

Participants consent to receive medical treatment if required and accept responsibility for any associated costs.

Failure to complete the waiver will result in denied entry with no refund.


7. Children & Age Requirements

  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

  • A ratio of 1 adult per 4 children under 16 is required.

  • The supervising adult must remain on-site for the duration of the session.

  • Parent or guardian consent is required for all minors.


8. Health & Fitness

  • Participants must be in suitable physical condition to participate.

  • Any relevant medical conditions should be disclosed prior to the session.

  • Smash Room reserves the right to refuse participation where a condition poses a safety risk.


9. Right to Refuse Service

Smash Room reserves the right to refuse entry or participation if a person:

  • Fails to comply with safety rules

  • Is under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • Behaves in a manner that risks safety, staff, or property


10. Smash Pass – Terms & Conditions

  • Smash Pass includes 5 individual sessions.

  • Sessions must be redeemed across separate bookings.

  • Only one session may be redeemed per booking.

  • Smash Pass cannot be used to book multiple sessions at once.

  • Smash Pass is non-refundable and not redeemable for cash.

  • Smash Pass cannot be transferred once partially used.

  • Smash Pass cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions unless stated.

  • Availability is not guaranteed and remains subject to standard booking availability.

  • Smash Room reserves the right to cancel or void a Smash Pass if misuse is identified.


11. Student Smash Thursdays – Terms & Conditions

  • Valid Thursdays only

  • $45 per person – Full Experience only

  • Valid student ID must be presented on arrival

  • If ID is not provided, the standard Full Experience rate applies

  • Cannot be combined with other discounts, promotions, or passes

  • Does not apply to add-ons, extra smash credits, or Smash Pass redemptions

  • Smash Room reserves the right to amend or withdraw the offer at any time


12. Consumer Guarantees Act (NZ)

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other applicable New Zealand consumer law.


13. Changes to Terms

Smash Room reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The version published on our website at the time of booking will apply.
